MISSION STATEMENT
INSPRIRING PEOPLE TO FOLLOW JESUS
The following are the core beliefs of The Family Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these Biblical doctrines.
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word and the basis for all our beliefs. It was fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and written without error in the original manuscripts. It is the final authority in all matters relating to faith and life and the standard for our doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness.
GOD THE FATHER
We believe there is one Almighty God, who is sovereign, infinite and perfect in power, wisdom, justice, goodness and love. He is the Creator of the world; He eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
GOD THE SON - JESUS CHRIST
We believe in Jesus Christ’s eternal existence as God, His incarnation by means of the virgin birth, His perfect life, His death on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for sin, His literal, bodily resurrection and ascension, His present ministry of intercession in heaven and His personal return to earth.
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit reveals and glorifies Jesus Christ. He convicts men of their sins, draws them to God and imparts unto them new life. He indwells believers and seals them until the day of redemption. He gives them spiritual gifts for ministry and empowers them to live a life
pleasing to God.
HUMANITY
We believe God created Adam innocent and in His own image. Man chose to sin by disobeying God and was therefore separated from his Creator. Since then, all human beings are totally depraved by nature, born in sin, unable to save themselves, and in need of the eternal salvation that only God, through Jesus Christ, can bestow upon them.
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is by grace, a free gift of God apart from works. Salvation involves justification, sanctification and glorification. Salvation comes through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who gives us assurance of our salvation. Those God saves are born again by the Holy Spirit and thus become His children. Genuine salvation will be manifested by faith and repentance – a changed life.
SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
We believe in the personal, visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth and in the bodily resurrection of the believer to heaven and the unbeliever to hell.
THE CHURCH
We believe all true believers make up the family of God worldwide and should assemble themselves in local congregations for worship, prayer, fellowship, teaching, and ministry centered around the Great Commission of our Lord.
BAPTISM & THE LORD'S SUPPER
We believe Christians should be baptized as a testimony of their new birth and regularly partake of the Lord’s Supper, which is a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s death on the cross.
